Old Gangsta Nicknames

shipment of Missouri October 1864 November 2010

Here are some photos from our last event for the recovery of the American Civil War.

The last weekend we have recreated a hospital northerner guarded by militiamen of Kansas and attacked by the rider of the expedition of General Price in 1864. To reconstruct the clothes (which will seem very different!) I refer to research conducted by our historian, on the forum CCFF comprising the 20th Maine and the French messes, each participating associations.

the two groups are part of what the Americans casually refer to "progressive" ie requiring a level of authenticity. So the soldier wore only equipment made as at the time (hand sewing shoes pegged wood ...) do that a soldier was at the time, sleep, eat .... as at the time!

outfits presented are those of the militia of Kansas mixture of uniforms and federal civil effects. The first illustration comes from an exceptional document, the sketch of a soldier who made this campaign. It shows an extraordinary variety of outfits! almost all wear hats either civilian or federal cap (Hardee Hat) as often on the western front.

Battlefield:

Hospital:

militiamen set up their tents outside the hospital .

typical Attire this campaign, pants, shirt and hat and coat federal civilian.

A sample of the militia of Kansas, it's like in the comics Blueberry "Terror on the Kansas"!
The weather is getting worse, the militia watching the rain fall at the same time as his moral dark .....
The fighting begins, it is very difficult to keep weapons capable of firing this humidity!

the evening was enlivened by patriotic songs "Lincoln and Liberty", "The Battle Cry of Freedom," "tramp tramp tramp," "The Battle Hymn Of The Republic "," Just Before The Battle Mother ".....
An extraordinary weekend, rainy but very nice. The theme of this camp will be resumed in June for aprofondi!

cordially
